I get a lot of people asking me about confidence. The most important thing to understand is confidence is an emotion.
Because it's not tangible, confidence is not something you can “acquire.” It’s something you grow and like a muscle, it can either get stronger or weaker.

Pursuing a girl you like is normal. In fact, a little bit of persistence can go a long way with women. At the same time, it’s easy to lose sight of when you should keep trying or when you’re better off letting go.
Here’s an email I answered that I hope makes your decision easier.
We're SO ready to party...some things never change.Nearly four years ago, I took a BoltBus with my friend Amy to meet Gary Vaynerchuk for the first time in New York City.
Gary and I were tweeting back and forth and I was a huge fan of his “monetizing your passion” message. That day, I was finally going to get the chance to meet someone I looked up to.
But, we got caught in rush hour traffic on the way. I saw tweets from him saying the venue was being lame about lowering their music and his talk may get cancelled.
He was the only reason I went to New York.
We bolted off the bus (no pun intended) and rushed to the venue. By the time we arrived, the venue refused to turn down the music but he was still there.
In fact, he took the huge crowd outside, stood on a milk crate and did his keynote about pursuing your passion right on the sidewalk.

People always tell me, “oh, I’d NEVER do that. That’d be so weird and everyone would know I was alone, which is even weirder.”
Excuses, excuses, and more excuses.
Back when I was working the evening shift as a valet, when I got off at 11PM -- sometimes midnight -- I wanted to go out and have a beer. But with all my friends working normal “9-5” jobs, I had no one to do that with.
I had to create another circle of friends to hang out with when I got off work.
So what did I do?
So many people have been asking me about the countdown on the site and it bewildered me that I didn't explain why it's posted. Silly me.
The countdown is for the company's 3rd birthday! Crazy, right? It seemed like yesterday I was just getting started while all of my friends were laughing it me. I love my friends.
There will be a celebration of some sort but also many changes to the company and the site as well -- all of which I am excited about.
